Please remember to exercise caution when exploring Nevada's Ghost Towns & Mining Camps. Open shafts, drifts going into mountainsides, and old buildings, are all DANGEROUS. Be aware of your surroundings, and let someone know where you are, especially if your plans change.

Parker Station

DIRECTIONS: From Ward, backtrack 3 miles to main road. Exit right and follow for 26 miles to Parker Station.

"Parker Station was established in the early 1870s by George Parker, a settler from Philadelphia. He built a two-story log station near Bullwhack Summit that was used as an exchange station for stage, mail, and freight teams. The station was an important stop on the Toano-Pioche stage line. Nevada Governor Reinhold Sadler purchased the station from Parker near the turn of the century and lived here on and off until the Riordan family acquired the property in 1917. Today the station is still partially standing, but it does not appear that the structure will survive too many more winters."
