Please remember to exercise caution when exploring Nevada's Ghost Towns & Mining Camps. Open shafts, drifts going into mountainsides, and old buildings, are all DANGEROUS. Be aware of your surroundings, and let someone know where you are, especially if your plans change.

Antelope Springs

DIRECTIONS: From Tippett, head south on the Lincoln highway for 0.75 mile. Exit right and follow for 2.5 miles to Antelope Springs.

"Antelope Springs was a Pony Express stop beginning in 1860. The station was burned by Goshute Indians in June and wasn't rebuilt until the Overland Stage and Mail Company took over the line. The company built a small log station, repaired the Pony Express corrals, and used the site until 1869. Antelope Springs was part of the Hamilton-Elko line. Flora Bender, who visited Antelope Springs on July 13, 1863, reported, "There is a small stage station and nice spring here, but no grass." Only a small log building remains at the site. There are differing opinions as to whether that building is the station or one that was located inside the corrals at Antelope Springs."
