Please remember to exercise caution when exploring Nevada's Ghost Towns & Mining Camps. Open shafts, drifts going into mountainsides, and old buildings, are all DANGEROUS. Be aware of your surroundings, and let someone know where you are, especially if your plans change.

Bailey (Baily)

DIRECTIONS: From Dillon, continue south for 2 miles to Bailey.

"Bailey was a three-car siding on the Nevada Central Railroad starting in 1880. While the railroad was being built, Bailey was used as a base camp for workers. Enough people lived here that on January 5, 1880, a post office opened, with Edward Bailey as postmaster. The office remained active until November 12, 1887. Bailey soon faded into obscurity, with its only mention in history being on February 13, 1910, when five miles of track were washed out nearby. Nothing remains at the desolate site."
