Please remember to exercise caution when exploring Nevada's Ghost Towns & Mining Camps. Open shafts, drifts going into mountainsides, and old buildings, are all DANGEROUS. Be aware of your surroundings, and let someone know where you are, especially if your plans change.

Willards

DIRECTIONS: From Hay Ranch, continue north on Nevada 278 for 4 miles to Willards.

"Willards was a stop on the Eureka and Palisade and the Eureka-Nevada railroads. The stop was named for the Willard family, who ran a ranch next to the railroad. The main ranch house, which served as a boardinghouse and restaurant for railroad passengers, burned in 1916. Although no real settlement developed here, a consistent population of 25 was reported for many years. Today the Willard Ranch is still active. Many of the buildings date from before the turn of the century, and one of the more prominent structures was associated with the railroad, as either a small depot or a freight building."
