Please remember to exercise caution when exploring Nevada's Ghost Towns & Mining Camps. Open shafts, drifts going into mountainsides, and old buildings, are all DANGEROUS. Be aware of your surroundings, and let someone know where you are, especially if your plans change.

Nevin

DIRECTIONS: From Bar, continue north for 4.5 miles. Exit left and follow for 8 miles to Nevin.

"Nevin was a very small, short-lived mining camp. Discoveries were made in the summer of 1906, and the first shipment of ore to Eureka showed fairly decent values. A small camp of 15 formed. On October 31, a post office, with Frederick Rocker as postmaster, opened. However, the ore deposit ran out after only a few months. On May 18, 1907, the post office was rescinded-before it ever became official. Only some scattered wooden rubble now marks the site."
