Please remember to exercise caution when exploring Nevada's Ghost Towns & Mining Camps. Open shafts, drifts going into mountainsides, and old buildings, are all DANGEROUS. Be aware of your surroundings, and let someone know where you are, especially if your plans change.

Evans

DIRECTIONS: From Hay Ranch, continue north on Nevada 278 for 7 miles to Evans.

"Evans was a siding on the Eureka and Palisade and the Eureka-Nevada railroads, located near the Evans Ranch, owned by J. V. Evans. Nearby ranchers used the siding to ship their goods to Palisade and Eureka and also to receive supplies. While the population of Evans varied, it never had more than 25 residents. The railroad folded in 1938, but Evans continues to operate as a ranch. Most of the buildings at the ranch are from more recent times, although some of the original structures still exist."
