2003 RX-1 Mountain Information

If you want higher marks, study this.

Introducing the all-new RX-1 Mountain. The very first mountain machine designed specifically around a race-bred, high-performance four-stroke engine with more than 145 hp, the Genesis Extreme. Derived directly from the blistering in-line, 20-valve 998cc four-cylinder found inside our equally revolutionary R1 motorcycle. Chest-flattening low-end torque and ferocious top-end punch. As a matter of fact, power and torque that blows away the competition’s big-bore twins.

Now picture this incredible powerplant lurking within a specially designed hill-climbing machine. All-new, rigid aluminum Deltabox chassis with long-travel, ProAction Mountain suspension and a monster 151” x 2” track delivering incredible deep-snow flotation and mountain-face-conquering traction. Add a mountain strap and skid-resistant running boards for maximum ease of movement.

Then... get ready for the best part of all: leaving your buddies somewhere lower on the mountain. Available in Team Yamaha Blue/White and Twilight Black. And for a limited time, during Spring 2002... Liquid Silver.

2003 RX-1 ER Information

Looks like Ferraris fly north for the winter.

This particular rendition of our RX-1 four-stroke masterpiece — the all-new RX-1 ER — takes the Revolution one step further.

Every bit the ultimate trail performer as its RX-1 sibling, with the high-performance four-stroke , in-line, 20-valve 998cc four-cylinder engine and more than 145 hp, the ER adds handy reverse gear. Gear selection is via a new, extra-convenient shift lever location.

The RX-1’s pulse-racing power and torque, which blows away the competition’s big-bore twins, however, is merely where the fun begins, as every component — engine, chassis, suspension, bodywork — of this incredible machine has been engineered to redefine the standard of ultimate snowmobile performance.
