Hunting Hours : are one-half hour before sunrise to sunset.

Youth Waterfowl Hunt is open to hunters 15 years old or younger. Youth hunters must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 18 years old. Adults are not allowed to hunt during this season. Limits singly or in the aggregate for snow and Ross' geese. Limits singly or in the aggregate for Canada and white-fronted geese. Limits singly or in the aggregate for coots and moorhens. *The following areas are closed to hunting for snow and Ross' geese: Ruby Valley within Elko and White Pine Counties; White River Valley of Nye County and Pahranagat Valley of Lincoln County.

Persons possessing a valid Nevada hunting license and both a current federal Migratory Game Bird Hunting Stamp, and a current Nevada Duck Stamp, when required, may apply for one of the 650 swan tags. An application fee ($5.00 nonrefundable) and a tag fee ($5.00 refundable if unsuccessful) must be mailed to the Hunt Application Office, P.O. Box 1345, Fallon, Nevada 89407-1345, and received by 5:00 p.m. on Sept. 17, 1999. No hand delivered applications for the drawing. Results will be provided by Oct. 1, 1999. Any remaining tags will be available on a first come, first served basis through the mail or over the counter during normal business hours (M-F 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.) at the Hunt Application Office, 185 North Maine St., Fallon, Nevada. Swan tag applications are available at all Division of Wildlife offices and select license agents.
Succesful swan hunters are required to have their tags and swans validated at seleted sites within five days of harvest. Mandatory validation requirements and validation sites will be provided with swan tags. If a harvest of five trumpeter swan is reached, the swan season is closed for the remained of the season.
